About Fergus
Fergus Hunter is a Classics tutor with a 1st Class Honours degree in Classics from the University of Nottingham and winner of the Thompson Prize, awarded annually to the highest-performing student in the Department of Classics and Archaeology.
With a deep love of the ancient world and a gift for making it come alive, Fergus brings languages, literature and history to students of all ages. His teaching is built on the belief that everyone can enjoy the classics when they are met with patience, creativity and genuine enthusiasm.
Experienced across state, private and home education, with a first-hand understanding of Special Educational Needs requirements and a specialism in creative, student-centred learning. Fergus adapts every session to the learner in front of him, whether that means gentle encouragement for a beginner, a fresh approach to a tricky grammar point, or stretching challenges for a confident young classicist.
